Score & Script

-
we all wearing the AI generated face masks and formal suits, start in our separate IKEA showrooms making tableaux acting as we totally melting our personae in the environments, Then Ez(Minion’s leader & the one who’s going to shopping) and Raha(Filming & documentary) begin at the top of the escalator.
-
Improvised performance occurs within the scene and engage in random and entertaining theatrical interactions with the architectural elements, common materials and props inside the showrooms
-
Ez is followed by Raha/Audience and begin observing us in our spots as we perform a tableau of several creepy gestures in our chosen showroom,
-
As approaching the next show room the masked followings led by EZ will collectively begin mimicking the gesture occurring in the space
-
Ez leaves and the person in the room As if responding to an induction and a summons and the soul had left the body, joins the group with machinery style movements.
-
Once all collected we make our way to the bedroom with walk in closet and bathroom,
-
We will form a large, collective tableau comprising all group members. Throughout this sequence, we will split into smaller groups, then come together as a larger group, and finally disperse again, engaging in numerous fluid interactions and dramaturgy shifts in the scene’s dynamics.
- We all have the repetition of the rubbing our stomach constantly as if we’re starving, and then we all flock to the ice cream, line up as the factory robot vibe waiting to get our IKEA signature ice creams one by one and eat it with a totally “uncanny Valley” moment and gestures.
Notes
I was profoundly drawn to how all of the objects in the IKEA showroom were hung with price tags. This visual concept produced a Pop Art association with the market and the consumer economy, so I proposed that each group member could hang a price tag of our own design on their body, and that we could imitate the forms of the furniture and the dynamics of how it is used. We could all “becoming” the furniture physically.
